STICKS & STONES

FAQs

VOLUNTEERS

Are there any requirements to become a volunteer at STICKS & STONES?

Reliability is essential for us. We rely on your commitment after your registration and count on your help. If something important comes up, please contact us as soon as possible at lisa@uhlala.com so that we can look for a replacement in time.

What are my tasks as a volunteer?

We have different areas of responsibility: Registration & Reception (Entrance or Networking Area), Market Research, Runner, De-rig Champion. You will receive more detailed information about each area when you register. Choose what suits you best.

From when to when am I needed as a volunteer?

Depending on the area of responsibility, we are looking for volunteers who can help for between 4 and 8 hours (minus a break of between 30 and 60 minutes). Again, you will find the exact times at the registration.

Will I be provided with food?

Yes. On the day of your shift, you will be given access to our catering area, where breakfast, delicious vegan lunches, and much more, such as coffee and cake, will be available.

Do I get the area I have chosen?

We pay attention to your wishes. That's why you can choose your first and second preference areas when registering. Try to register as early as possible to secure your preferred space.

Is there any more information about my shift schedule before the event? What do I do if I have questions or get stuck?

We will send you all the important information in time before the event. You will have a contact person on site who is responsible for you and can be reached if you have any questions. You can reach your contact person at any time.

VISITORS

Are the tickets free of charge?

Yes! The tickets, as well as the additional items for the networking sessions, are free of charge.

I am not LGBTIQ+, am I still welcome?

Our job and career fair also welcomes all allies and friends of the LGBTIQ+ community. In addition to our LGBTIQ+ topics, you can take away many valuable experiences. By attending, you will also be supporting the community and all your friends and family who are a part of it.

What kind of materials should I bring with me?

On the one hand, we recommend the usual range of application folders, CVs, motivation letters or application flyers. In addition, providing your LinkedIn profile and other similar professional social media accounts is encouraged. Some companies offer CV checks. You will find these highlighted separately on the map of the fair.

What else can I prepare?

It's best to look at our exhibitors and consider who is relevant to you. Make appointments with your favorites or secure one-on-one interviews via the candidate list to shorten your wait time. Think about questions or topics you want to discuss and write them down. Be bold and ask questions about diversity.

Is there a dress code?

A career fair - so business look? Not with us! Our motto: Be yourself. We want you to feel comfortable because that's the only way to come across as authentic.

STICKS & STONES is a project by UHLALA Group. Since 2009, we have been supporting, promoting and connecting LGBTIQ+ people in their careers and bringing them together with companies and organisations that appreciate their LGBTIQ+ employees.
